At this year’s Regenerative Agriculture Summit, we were thrilled to celebrate bold ideas driving change in the agri-food system — and one of the standout moments was our Innovation Showcase, where rising startups shared how they’re supporting the future of farming.
We sat down with Alex Adquist, Founder & CEO of Good Agriculture, the winner of this year’s showcase, to talk about their mission to take the back-office burden off farmers, their journey so far, and what’s next as they scale up. From navigating early-stage growth to building tools that unlock time and capacity for regenerative farmers, Good Agriculture is a name to watch.
RASNA Team: We're at the Regenerative Agriculture Summit North America today, and we're joined by Alex Edquist, the founder and CEO of Good Agriculture — and the winner of this year’s Innovation Showcase. Alex, thanks for taking the time to chat with us!
Alex: Hi, thanks for having me! I’m Alex, founder and CEO of Good Agriculture. We’re a business back-office management platform for farmers. Our goal is to take some of the admin and operational load off farmers’ shoulders so they can focus on what they do best — farming.
RASNA Team: That’s such an important area, especially in regenerative agriculture. What brought you to the summit?
Alex: We’re here at the Regenerative Agriculture Summit because we really believe in the promise of regenerative ag — better environmental outcomes, healthier food, and often, more profitability for the farmer. But even with all that upside, adoption is still relatively low. One big reason is time — regenerative farming can be more complex and more time-consuming. Many farmers are small business owners managing everything on their own — finances, logistics, hiring, compliance. It’s a lot. That’s where Good Agriculture comes in — to take some of that off their plate.
RASNA Team: How long have you been building Good Agriculture?
Alex: We started the company around three years ago. We launched our first product — a funding tool that matches farmers to grants and ecosystem credit programs — in October 2022. Then in January 2023, we launched our second product, a financial management platform. Both have been running now for over two years.
RASNA Team: And you’re preparing for a funding round — what will that support?
Alex: Yes, we’re about to open a seed round. We’ve proven that farmers are getting real value from our tools — now it’s about scaling. We want to go from 50 farmers to thousands. That means investing in our dev team to speed up product development, expanding our sales and marketing efforts to reach more farmers, and covering our early-stage operational costs as we grow toward profitability.
RASNA Team: Congratulations again on winning the Innovation Showcase! Do you have any advice for others pitching next year?
Alex: Thank you! Yeah — the best advice I ever got was from a Techstars mentor before our first big demo day. We were backstage, nervous, and one of the program leads just looked at us and said, “You don’t need a pep talk. You are boss-ass bitches. Go do your job.” And honestly, it stuck with me. Every time I pitch, I remind myself I’m just here to talk about something I care deeply about — my business. That mindset helps calm the nerves. And of course: practice, practice, practice.
RASNA Team: Love that. And finally, how’s your experience been at the summit this year?
Alex: It’s been fantastic. I’ve seen this event evolve a lot — early on it was more corporate, CPG-focused. Now there’s a real effort to bring farmers and those working directly with them into the conversation. That shift has been great. We've made some amazing connections and had valuable conversations.
RASNA Team: That’s what we love to hear. Thanks so much for joining us, Alex — and congrats again!
Alex: Thank you! Appreciate it!
